Must have strong Customer Service skills. Ensures that SDMI Core values are used when handling everyday concerns or issues with patients or staff. Keeps a 2% error rate when dealing with patient charts. Perform cashiering duties including collecting co-payments, deposits, and issuing receipts, posting payments, and balancing a cash drawer. Communicate effectively with other departments regarding their patients. Schedule and verify patient appointments as needed. Answers phones and questions from patients, doctor’s offices, families and may directs calls to appropriate departments. Checks in and inputs the proper authorization as needed, ensuring all forms are complete and have appropriate signatures. Scans current ID, insurance cards, and all needed paperwork into the EMR. Greets and interviews a patient at intake area, obtain and update demographic and insurance information at that time.
